World Environment Day... my plastic nemesis.

Yesterday was World Environment Day and the theme for this year was ‘Beat Plastic Pollution’.  And plastic is my nemesis. I think we have all known for a long time how bad plastic is for the planet. Just a cursory look at some of the World Environment Day articles and shocking statistics just lurch out of the page – every year globally we use around 5 trillion plastic bags; each Australian uses around 200 plastic bags per year; we use a plastic bag for around 12 minutes and then it takes around 500 years to break down… and that’s just the...

Fashion Revolution Week 2018: My Granny the Revolutionary

Today, as my next blog post for Fashion Revolution Week I want to tell you about my grandmother. Granny Allison was one of the great loves of my life, she was wondrous in so many ways, and here is a story of something truly wonderful she unknowingly taught me that is ringing so loudly in my head right now, and shaping my life. Maker Stories: Will and Bear

Babes, it's been a couple of weeks between Maker Stories, but I am so committed to sharing more stories about the amazing people that design and make everything we stock at Brown's. It has always been a massive intention of this business to showcase and stock ethical, local and handmade products; but of course as we build the business we are just diving deeper into our learning and our commitment to this being the road that we drive this business down. One of the labels that I had from day one of the business that I just grow more and...
