Refunds and Returns

Please choose carefully as we do not refund for change of mind, we only refund faulty items, but will exchange or offer a store credit. Your item must be returned within 14 days (both online and instore). Store credit is then valid for 12 months from the processing date.

Proof of purchase will be required – a physical receipt, Eftpos receipt, emailed receipt, or hopefully we will remember you. But Brown’s does reserve the right to refuse an exchange, return or store credit. 

Exchange items must be in as new condition and suitable for resale. Any postage costs for change of mind exchanges is at the expense of the customer both returning and resending items.

Sale items cannot be exchanged or refunded, unless the item is faulty. 

When returning items please use a trackable service – ensuring the stock arrives back to us is the customer’s responsibility. Our postal address is: Shop 3, 19 Latrobe Terrace, Paddington, Qld 4064.

Shipping

We currently only ship within Australia. Standard shipping is free for orders $50 or over, or $8 standard shipping for orders under $50. We also offer express shipping which is $15 for orders under $200, and free for orders $200 or more. We currently use two shipping services: Sendle for regular delivery within Australia, they are an excellent service and will take care with your packages and include insurance with their shipping in case something goes wrong. And we use Australia Post for all our express post service and ensure that it is trackable and delivered to you. Sometimes we will use Australia Post for other shipping if Sendle does not deliver to an area, or we feel it will be quicker with Australia Post.

If your item arrives to you damaged or faulty please contact us within 48 hours with photographs of the damage (we need these to claim delivery insurance). If we can replace it with something you are happy with, we will, otherwise we will refund your purchase.

If you are outside of Australia and would like us to ship to you, we are happy to do this, but we need you to email us first (hello@brownsgeneralstore.com.au) and we will organise this with you, as the cost of shipping varies from location to location.

Pick Up In Store 

At the online store check out you can also select to pick your order up in store (at our brick and mortar space, shop 3, 19 Latrobe Terrace, Paddington, Qld) then you don't have to pay for shipping! If you need to do a 'speedy pick up' make a note when you 'check out' of the online, shop or call/email us (07 3195 6968 or hello@brownsgeneralstore.com.au) and we will gift wrap or prep it for you. Then when you arrive just call the shop phone, pull into the loading zone on Latrobe Terrace and we will run it out for you ready to go! 

Local Delivery

We are also happy to offer free next day (in most cases, sometimes if it ordered on the weekend or during public holidays/school holidays we cannot deliver the next day) delivery to areas close to our brick and mortar store at Latrobe Terrace in Paddington. The areas we offer this service to are: Ashgrove, Bardon, Milton, Paddington, Red Hill, Rosalie, The Gap. You can simply ring up and request this service if you place an order over the phone, or you can put this in the notes of your online order. 

Please note, if no one is home we will leave parcels either in the mailbox or on the front door step (and take a photograph as documentation), if items go missing after this point, we do not accept responsibility for the loss of goods.
